Infield prospect, Alex Jensen (2011, 6'1"/160), is a player that you just love to have on your team. He is a fundamentally sound player on offense and defense. He is an aggressive hitter who is still coming into his own physically but can really swing it which was displayed this summer by being the team leader in rbi’s for the 2011 On Deck O's-Black. He is a gap to gap type hitter right now who sprays the ball all over the field and is going to drive balls out of the park when he adds some muscle to his tall slender frame. He is a very good defensive player that is very versatile and will do a great job at every position in the infield. He possesses very good hands and a strong throwing arm that allows him to play 3rd base while being very smooth with his actions in the middle. He is an average runner with a 7.2/7.3 60 yard dash time but has good range in the infield because of the reads he gets off the bat and the angles he takes to the ball. He has been the starting shortstop for Charlotte Catholic High School since his freshman year and plays SS, 2B, and 3B for the O’s- Black in the fall. He is an outstanding young man that has a great work ethic and has exceptional grades to go with it.
